Just came across a fabulous post by Joel Spolsky from back in 2001.
What's the moral of the story? Beware of Methodologies. They are a great way to bring everyone up to a dismal, but passable, level of performance, but at the same time, they are aggravating to more talented people who chafe at the restrictions that are placed on them.

Re methodologies (my research being a poet of sorts is based on etymology and the morphing of words) Meth Odo Logies may equate to Meth as in Mithra (mid) Odo (shape-shifter/morph master) Logies as in Logos. Just a thought. :-) Liz
PS: Gave my son's website as he allowed insertion of a poem which travelled through me, and it's worth a visit for his stuff. He passed on 18 days before his 19th birthday in June 2003. Don't have much access to the web myself, no electricity at home.
