And...
did you know that our own Met Office is a small department of our Ministry of Defence?
Cheers!

In Italy (and Spain and Greece and Turkey) the weather is the private reserve of the military - specifically the Air Force.Ergo instead of a weather girl you get an Air Force General!
To counterbalance this, the News reader is a deeply low-cut dress with a girl inside (I'll send that as a seperate eMail!)
In Spain mapping is the reserve of the Army - so any map you buy of Spain will be a German or French publication.
While all the world uses Royal Navy Charts of the most obscure corners of the world.
It's nice to get something useful for your tax dollar/pound/euro ain't it?
Cheers!
